Don Franck's Astronomy Page
Have you ever looked at the night sky and wondered? Wondered
at the beauty.
Wondered if we are really alone? Or just sat on the cool grass, and wondered.
Since I was
10, I too have wondered. Books about Space, Astronomy, and plain old Science
Fiction,
have filled my life. And today, the Internet helps me to search the world
for the latest
wonders. And, if you will let me, I would like to show you what I have
seen. And maybe,
just maybe, you will start to wonder too.
It seems these days I spend all my time on the computer. Looking at this
photograph or that
telescope. And as I do, I find new places to research or new places to explore.
Seeing the
tons of links I have found, I thought I would try to bring them to you. Sections

Observing, Building Your Own Observatory, Star Parties, and General Knowledge.

CCD Astronomy
CCD astronomy is one of the most exciting fields on Amateur Astronomy today.
The
research in Supernovaes, Astrometrics, and Planetary Imaging, are cutting
edge. Combined
with new remote controlled telescopes, they open the world to astronomers
all over the
world. Here are some places to start:

Computerized Telescopes
Computerized telescopes have ten around for many years now. But, the growing
use of the
CCD has made the computer the new heart of the system. From Hubble to the
newest
Meade, computers are reaching out to the amateur. See for yourself:

Observing
Planetary and Solar Observing have been my passion all my life. I still enjoy
going back through my observations of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the Sun.
