TURNED WOOD ITEMS Items turned on the lathe by David Buck, for Colorado. Aspen is gathered, by permit, in the surrounding public lands and is the most abundant. David also has permission to salvage ranch land cedar fence posts, which are the basis of the "One of a Kind" items. He also uses Kentucky Black Walnut, white ash, and some maple because the wood is so beautiful and nice to work with. Each piece is unique.
A photo tree, especially for Grandmothers, is in the center foreground. It is turned from a piece of a cedar fence post. There are also wet and dry bud vases shown. Items available now include: tooth pick holders, paperclip holders, pencil and note holders, wet and dry bud vases, Oil and Wax candleholders, Ornaments (light & fan pulls), and business card holders. Cedar fence post products are not abundant because of the small supply of the abandoned fence posts. David does not mass produce any of his items, so large supplies are not available.
Toothpick holder made from cured Aspen log. This item also available in cedar fence post, black walnut and bass wood.
Aspen ornament. These can be used as tree ornaments, window hangings, or light and fan pulls. They are also available in cedar fence post, basswood, maple and black walnut.
Photo trees are especially nice gifts for grandparents. They can be made of aspen, or our cedar ranch fence posts. The one shown in turned from a fence post and the grain is exquisite. ![]() Made of cedar fence posts, salvaged from Battlement Mesa area of Colorado.
