This group is intended to be an outreach for individuals who find it difficult to regularly attend gatherings in Portage due to time and/or traveling distance. It will be an opportunity to practice sitting and walking meditation, and to learn more about the Shambhala lineage, as appropriate. If interest and attendance grows, we hope to offer more formal class instruction with Robert Walker, including Shambhala training.

After our regular sitting period, we will be reading Sakyong Mipham's "Ruling Your World". If you don't have the book, or don't have the time to read another thing right now, please come anyway. We plan to read a short section aloud before discussing it to include everyone in attendance. The Rinpoche's book is packed with so much wisdom that even a short passage will give us plenty to discuss.

Please bring your own cushion if you have one.

DIRECTIONS TO SACRED SPACE: 58 E. Beltline Ave, SE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49506 on the east side of the Beltline between Fulton and Cascade Road.

From 96 E. in Grand Rapids: Exit at the East Beltline, Go South. Just past Fulton Street, swing around to go North on the East Beltline. (58 E. Beltline is almost directly across from the turn around) When you go North on the Beltline, immediately pull into the right hand lane and turn right into the driveway. Look for a large brown and white home behind the pine trees.

From 28th Street in Grand Rapids: Go North on the East Beltline. Pass Cascade Road and Midland Drive. Just as the right hand turn lane begins for Fulton Street, turn right into the driveway. The address is on the mailbox, 58 E. Beltline. Look for a large brown and white home behind the pine trees. There is a second drive if you miss the first one.
