My first parrot was a timneh grey called shankley which i bought from a pet shop in 1983, since then my father purchased a pair of grey's which where prolific breeders and enabled him to buy many more birds. He now have 5 pairs of grey's and shankley my first parrot has a partner . He have a pair of grey's with a red stripe across its chest and back and the flight feathers are all red, this pair have produced several young ,all having the same markings.
All the greys are housed indoors, as i have had some good breeding results this way. I feed them fruit and vegetables every morning and a good quality parrot seed in the evening which has extra calcium and vitamins added twice a week.
Grey's make excellent pets as they learn to speak before they are weaned and go on to learn a large volcabilary of words
