How i see life in Plaquemines parish. I have been in this parish for about six years now. we have the usual small town hoop la. its a great place to live if you like boating and fishing,and if you like mosquitoes Nat's and any other flying creature you can think of. there is only one road in and one road out ,so if you like to site see a boat is the only way to do it,and if you are like most that live in lower plaquemines you get in your car and drive one-hour and go to New Orleans .
here are some pictures of boats from a boat rental place down here in Venice you just might see one or two of them on your travels through plaquemines.
the man in picture is one of the managers of this place he is one of the good guys ,although his nickname is very deceiving,they call him captain ass whole.
We do have a lot of things for the adults to do there are walking tracks the YMCA and if you have money to below you can do the bingo thing,or you can go into any one of the restaurants and play the slot machine.we also have a military Fort right on the Mississippi River it is very old and in Dyer need of repairs every year they hold the Orange Festival at this fort you might have heard of the fort it's called fort Jackson .
ok so now you have a little bit of an idea.
so if you like to fish and have a good time doing so this is the place to be. but if you do not like to fish well stay home.

This is something that I Thank that you might like to see,This is a shot over looking Hwy 23 empire bridge It's the highest point on the road in lower plaquemines.
The view is best ever.I like to go over the bridge and just look at the beautiful scenery. When I get home sick,it reminds me no matter where you are there is beauty every where you go,if you just look for it.
Living in lower plaquemines is something to experience just once in your life.
When I first came to to this place I was in shock from the heat and from the way things are done hear,not like the way I was use too,Not at all. When you have lived just about all your life in the north and then come to live in the south, WOW what a difference in the way that people think and the way they do things,At times I thought I had gone back in time. I can't say I'm sorry for coming to lower plaquemines, cause I'm not, this is where I had found the love of my life,my soul mate. I'm proud that I married a coon ass, this is what they call a cajun person(I'm not shore why they just do). I'll have more for you to read and see as soon as i get to it.
