Decompression Diving: Training depth limit of 150 ft.
Double cylinders w/ dual outlet manifold required.
This course is intended to expose the diver to lengthier decompression schedules. Decompression could easily be 30 minutes on each dive. The diver should be comfortable in the water diving to his/her current gear configuration at their level of certification.
Academic sessions will include: understanding and dealing with narcosis, decompression techniques, bailouts and gear specific to this type of diving. Equipment preparation and application. Calculating the diver's gas use rates.
Planning, organizing and executing decompression dives including exposure to stresses and failures discussed in the classroom.
Dives will be completed in double cylinder manifold configuration.
Any nitrox mix the diver is currently certified to utilize may be used to complete the dives.
Technical Nitrox: training limit: 180 ft
prereq: Advanced Nitrox and/or Deco Techniques, or proof of multiple dives as deep as 130 ft with decompression stop management included.
The IANTD Technical Diver Program will train the diver on gas mixtures ranging from normal air bottom mixes to 100% oxygen for accelerated and technical decompression exposures. Academic sessions will include: understanding and dealing with narcosis; advanced decompression techniques using Hyperoxic gases; self sufficiency; development of a more complete understanding of the limits of any enriched air
blend; development of a working knowledge of the relationships between gas blending, tracking gas uptake in the body and the physiological impact of gas loading. Equipment preparation and application is also reviewed. All dives will be decompression dives using dual outlet valve tanks and stage bottles. Pool sessions will concentrate on developing proficiency in the use of this equipment and calculating the diver'sgas use rates.
Technical nitrox is only completed in a doubles configuration and a deco and or travel mix bottle is carried. This would normally be a minimum of 40 cf but most often we use an 80. Training is for any mixture appropriate for the bottom with decompression on either 80% or 100% O2 Dives in this class are limited to 180 feet.
We can accomplish some of the dives in the quarry, others will need be made either off a vessel or travel to 40 fathom grotto in Ocala, fla.
Technical nitrox should be able to be completed in 4 FULL days
You should own a set of doubles and have been diving in them for more than a few dives and completed decompression dives prior to attempting this course. This course requires 280 minutes run time, 5 dives, two of which must be between 131 and 170 ft..
Normoxic / Intermediate Trimix: Training depth: no deeper than 200 feet
prereq: Technical Nitrox
DPV (SCOOTER): Prereq: recommended: Advanced OW
Scooter certification required at most cave diving sites now!!
gain exposure to various scooters, learn strength and weakness of each. An excellent course to help the diver decide which scooter he would like to own.
Inro to Cave: Prereq: Cavern, and AOW
Introduction to Cave Diving is a single-diving cylinder overture to the most basic principles of cave diving. The basis of this course is aimed at perfecting skills taught in the Cavern-diving program as well as instructing in additional techniques and procedures required for elementary cave dives. Cave dives are planned around limited penetrations. The Introduction to Cave Diving course is not intended to train divers for all facets of cave diving. Accident analysis continues to form the basis of the training.
DURATION: Approximately 2 days (beyond Cavern Diver). May be taken with cavern resulting in a 4 day minimum course.
Open Circuit Full Cave: prereq: intro to cave. 4 days minimum beyond intro. 6 days incl. Intro to cave.
Full Cave instructs the student in techniques for reasonable lengthy penetrations, perhaps as distant as 3000 ft and as deep as 130ft. Advanced line techniques and protocols, refining of basic caving skills, developing skills to safely experience difficult to dive areas. Complete circuits and traverses after properly planning and completing setup dives. This course will change the way you dive and think about diving forever!
CCR Full Cave: prereq: CCR certification having completed 25 dives and 35 hours of ccr divetime.
CCR Normoxic Trimix: ccr certification having completed a specified number of hours and dives on the unit.
