I am John Finlayson and this is my wife, Marjorie. I was a close friend and neighbor of the Livingstons and am a Trustee of the Geraldine C. M.
Livingston Foundation. I will give you a little background and history of this great family, so you may appreciate the uniqueness of Dixie Plantation and the generosity and vision of the late Geraldine Livingston.

Gerald Livingston was a successful Wall Street stock broker and outdoorsman. When he first visited this area in the early 1920's while quail hunting he fell in love with the country side and began purchasing property that would eventually became his private quail and hunting refuge, Dixie Plantation. This grew to encompass approximately 18,000 acres straddling the Georgia-Florida state line.
