*GENERATION 1*
Nathan NELSON Sr. was born about 1801. It was believed he was the son of Benjamen F. NELSON, although there is not yet proof to support it. He married Elizabeth MATHENY ?? on Dec. 14, 1826 in Belmont County Ohio. She is the daughter of Ephraim MATHENY Sr.and ?, born in about 1805-1809 in Belmont County, Ohio, or Monogalia County, WV. There is also evidence to show from Nathan Nelson Jr.'s brothers death record that Nathan Nelson Sr.'s wife was Thrissa RHYDELPHIA. This could suggest a second marriage after the death of Elizabeth MATHENY. At the time they married Nathan was living in york Twp. and Elizabeth was living in Mead Twp., Belmont County Ohio. They had:

Nathan NELSON Sr. and Thrissa RHYDELPHIA had:
(1)Benjamen Franklin Nelson, born August 9, 1844 in Marshall county, WV. He married Catherine Hoskins, b. 1846 and died 1936. Benjamen Franklin NELSON died on August 8, 1934 in Wood County, WV.

These last 3 are also known brothers or half brothers of Nathan NELSON Jr., but no eveidence has been shown to support wheither they are half or full brothers.
*GENERATION 2*
Nathan NELSON Jr. was born in 1841 in Belmont County Ohio. He married Hannah Jane VENHAM, the daughter of James VENHAM and Jane C. COLEMAN on November 24, 1856 in Marshall County WV. Nathan NELSON died on October 19, 1909 of Brights Disease. Hannah Jane VENHAM died in about 1923. Nathan served in the Civil War in Company E, 7th WV Regiment, Union Army, and was mustered in at Wheeling WV. He is burried in Neale/Cook Cemetary in Parkersburg, Wood County, WV. (see grave above)Nathan NELSON and Hannah Jane VENHAM had the following children:
(1)Lorenzo Danford NELSON, Born in 1858 in Moundsville, Marshall County, WV. He married Hester Virginia HEADLEE on December 24, 1877 in Wood County, WV.
(2)Theresa "Tess" NELSON, born 1859 in Moundsville, Marshall County, WV. She married James Lambert FLOWERS in 1878 in Wood County, WV. She died on April 10, 1918 in Wood Co. WV.
(3)Charles Clark NELSON, born on August 7,1860 in Moundsville, Marshall County, WV. He married 1. Arilla Clark in 1879 in Wood County, WV, and 2. Lucille McAtee. He died April 6, 1932 in Vienna Wood County, WV. He is burried in Neale cemetary.
(4)Evaline "Eva" NELSON, born on March 31, 1863 in Moundsville, Marshall County, WV. She married Samuel HEADLEE on April 10, 1879 in Wood County, WV. She died in 1928 in Wood County. They are burried in Neal cemetary.
(5)Joseph "Elliott" NELSON, born in 1864 in Moundsville, Marshall County, WV. He married Louisa ATKINSON on October 6, 1892 in Wood County WV. He died in 1921 in Wood County, WV.
(6)William Wolford NELSON, Born on August 9, 1865 in Wood County, WV. He married Cora MEEKS. He died in about 1956 and she in about 1937. He is burried in Mount Olivet cemetary, Wood county, WV. Cora Meeks is burried in Neal Cemetary, Wood county, WV.
(7)Cora Mae NELSON, Born 1866 in Vienna, Wood County, WV. She married Leopold HERSBURGER. They are burried in Mount olivet cemetary, Wood County, WV.
(8)Henry Clay "Click" NELSON, Born 1869 in Vienna, Wood County, WV. He married Ida UHL on January 11, 1899 in Wood County, WV. They are burried in Way Cemetary in Brisco Run, Wood County, WV.
(9)Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" NELSON, born December 5, 1870 in Wood County, WV. She married Albert WHEATON. They lived AT 980 22nd Ave, Dunbar, WV.
(10)Julia Gantz NELSON, born 1876 in Vienna Wood County, WV. She married John MCMULLEN in Wood Co. WV. She died in 1951 and is burried in the Neal Cemetary in Wood County, WV.
(11)Fredrick Stanwood Nelson, born on January 6, 1879 in Vienna, Wood County, WV. He married Madora ATKINSON on September 27, 1895 in Parkersburg, Wood County, WV. He died on May 2, 1951 in Vienna, Wood County, WV. He is burried in Neal Cemetary in Parkersburg, WV.

Hester Virginia HEADLEE is the daughter of Abraham HEADLEE and Elizabeth WHITLATCH. She was born on October 17, 1854 in Wood County, WV and died on April 4, 1928 in Wood County, WV. He died on October 18, 1928 in Wood County, WV. They had the following children:
(1)Edward NELSON, Born in 1880 in Wood County, WV. He married Bertha PALMER on September 27, 1895 in Wood County, WV. Ed is burried in the Neal cemetary. Bertha is burried in Mt. Carmel cemetary.
(2)Elizabeth "Lizzi" NELSON, born in About 1881. She married Clerance ATKINSON on October 14, 1905 in Wood County, WV. They are burried in either Ten mile or Harpers hill cemetary at Valley mills.
(3)Jesse NELSON, born on November 21, 1881 in Wood County, WV. He married 1. Ida Kernee Hart December 20, 1908, and 2. Grace M. LOVE on February 12, 1912 in Wood County WV. Jess died on March 1, 1973 in Brimfield, Portage County, Ohio.
(4)Iva NELSON, born in 1883 in Wood County, WV. She married Joseph ATKINSON on October 14, 1905 in Wood County WV. They are burried at Harpers Hill cemetary at Valley Mills.
(5)Jack NELSON, born on February 28, 1887 in Wood County WV. He married Mary Ethel O'MEALEY on November 20, 1915 in Wood County, WV. They are burried at Mount Carmel cemetary, Wood County, WV.

Jack NELSON was born on February 28, 1887 in Wood County WV.He married Mary Ethel O'MEALEY on November 20, 1915 in Wood County WV. She was the daughter of Micheal O'MEALEY and Mary Jane BURKE.
She was born in Plattsburgh, Clinton County, NY on June 19, 1897. She died on December 16, 1969 in Wood County, WV. They are both burried in the Mount Carmel Cemetary in Parkersburg, Wood County, WV. Jack NELSON died on November 4, 1954 in Parkersburg, Wood County, WV. They had the following children:

(2)Glen NELSON, who died as an infamt.
(3)Joseph Leo NELSON, born on Jan 19, 1921 in Wood County, WV. He married Eula KIRBY on December 16, 1944 in Vienna WV. He died on March 6, 1998 in Vienna Wood County, WV.
(4)Mary Evelyn NELSON, Born October 5, 1922 in Vienna Wood County WV. She married Marvin BARNES on November 4, 1939 in Greenup, KY.
(5)Audrey Louise NELSON, who married 1. Tommy SANDERS in the 1940's, and 2. Jack SCHULOR. She died on May 17, 1977 in Parkersburg, Wood County, WV. She is burried in Mount Carmel Cemetary, Wood County, WV.
(6)Rita Margaret NELSON, she married George BAILEY in Wood county in the early 1950's.
(7)Douglas James NELSON, He married Beatrice RIGGS in the 1950'S. She died in 1955 in Weston, Lewis County, WV. He second married Jerri OLDHAM in the late 1950's, now divorced. He lives in Wood County, Vienna, WV.
(8)Francis Xavier NELSON, married Shirlee Ann SWARTZ in the 1950's. They reside in Vienna.

Mary Evelyn NELSON was born on October 5, 1922 in Vienna, Wood County, WV. She married Marvin BARNES
on November 4, 1939 in Greenup, KY. He is the son of Dewey BARNES and Leone E. FERGUSON. He was born on October 25, 1921 in Revere, Gilmer County, WV. Sadly Marvin Barnes died on February 29, 2004 in Bradenton, Sarasota county, FL. They had 3 Children:
