My name is David Littlefield. My wife Gretchen and I began collecting art glass in 1999, starting with colorful mini-pitchers and vases. From there we graduated to contemporary iridescent glass. Then we discovered Loetz and 19th and early 20th century Czechoslovakian and Bohemian art glass. I met other collectors through eBay, one of whom became my mentor, Dr. Alfredo Villanueva-Collado, a New York City Czech art glass collector, and author of several articles on this type of glass, including articles on Dugan, Pallme-Koenig, Rindskopf and Kralik at the www.loetz.com website, owned by Mr. Eddy Scheepers of Belgium. Information about each item shown on these pages was obtained from various sources, including Ricke's Loetz Bohmisches Glas Band 1 and 2.
As a note, the boundaries in the part of Europe where this glass was manufactured often changed, but the factories themselves remained. Rather than try to determine the actual country of origin, I have chosen to add "Bohemian" in the title, which pretty much covers them all.
