THIS IS A NURSERY RHYME ABOUT TAFFY, A WELSHMAN. I WANT YOU
TO KNOW THAT I DO NOT BEHAVE THE WAY THAT TAFFY DOES. WELL, ACTUALLY,
I DO SOMETIMES TAKE THINGS THAT I SHOULD NOT. I ONCE TOOK A TWENTY
DOLLAR BILL OUT OF SOME ONE'S PURSE; I DO TAKE KLEENEX EVERY CHANCE I GET;
AND FOOD ON UNWATCHED TABLES IS FAIR GAME. HOWEVER, I LEARNED HOW TO
TRADE. IF I TAKE SOMETHING, MARY SAYS "TRADE," I GIVE HER WHAT I HAVE
AND SHE GIVES ME A TREAT. PRETTY COOL. WELL, ANYWAY, HERE IS
THE RHYME.
Taffy was a Welshman;
Taffy was a thief:
Taffy came to my house
And stole a piece of beef.
I went to Taffy's house,
Taffy was not home;
Taffy came to my house
And stole a mutton bone.
I went to Taffy's house,
Taffy was not in;
Taffy came to my house
And stole a silver pin.
I went to Taffy's house,
Taffy was in bed;
I took up a poker
And threw it at his head.
