My Family Heritage

My relatives all came from Carroll County, Virginia. My father's family lived in the Cana Section and mama's family lived in the Fancy Gap Section. That makes me related to most of the people below the Blue Ridge Parkway in Southwestern Carroll Co.

My Ancestors

My dad was Elisha Monroe Edwards (13 Jan 1930 - 16 Oct 2000) He was the son of John Robert Edwards (1862 - 1951) and Alice Surena Cagle (1888 - 1978).

My mama is Ida Mae Edwards (2 May 1932 - still living). She is the daughter of John Walter Edwards (1895 - 1961) and Susie Newes Thomas (1905 - 1991).

They were married 29 Mar 1957. And had 4 kids: Betty Newes Edwards, Donna Kay Edwards (me), Elisha Timmy "Tim" Edwards and Monroe Teddy "Ted" Edwards.

My Current Research

I have my Edwards line back to (Elk Spur) John Edwards who left an 1810 will in the Grayson County, VA court records. One of his sons was William and I decend from three of his children. Other family lines I connect to are Thomas, Cagle, Guynn, Easter, Ayers, Browder and many more. I am most interested in all families in the southwest Carroll area.
