My name is Dave, aka DooWopDave, and
from 1998-2002 I ran the "Dave's Doowop
Shop" and "Oldies Central
Network" websites, which featured jukeboxes of rare doowops and
teeners from the 50's & 60's. As many of you may recall, I was forced to
shut down those jukeboxes due to the high cost of obtaining the licensing
fees necessary to publicly broadcast music. In March of 2003 I stumbled
across the Live 365 internet
radio network and decided to become a broadcaster. Live
365 is an officially licensed ASCAP and
BMI site, and allows me to legally broadcast a station at a reasonable cost.
On my station you will hear the hits
and the rarities from the 50's and early 60's by both the well known and the
unknown groups and artists from the greatest era of rock & roll. My
standard playlist contains over 750 songs...that's over 28 hours of
music...and new songs are shuffled in regularly. That's much more music than
I could have ever hoped to present on my jukeboxes! And because of the
format, I am able to present more of a variety of the styles of music that
fall under the umbrella of rock & roll from the 50's era...although
doowop will always be the main
genre.
So if you were a fan of my previous
jukebox sites, I invite you to check out my station and hear what you've
been missing! Whether you are a serious collector looking for new songs to
add to your want list or a casual oldies listener who just enjoys the sounds
and isn't afraid to hear more than just the Top 40 hits, then be sure to
check out my station by clicking the pic below.

I also invite you to check out the
Oldies Central Network club on Yahoo. Become a member today and you'll be
able to share songs and memories with other oldies lovers.
