Excellent and extensive overview of pain developed by the nursing students at the University of Iowa. A great "first stop" for any pain patient.

American Pain Foundation (American Pain Foundation, 2000)
An outstanding resource for pain patients. The site is very well organized and leads the patient to various other web sites for detailed information on various aspects of pain.  The site also has an extensive listing of resources for patients.

Dick Chapman's Home Page (C. Richard Chapman, Ph.D., date unknown)
Well written overview of pain for knowledgeable patients. This site has an excellent glossary of pain-related terms as well as an extensive list of other relevant web sites (although without reviews).
