Can Nikon meters be repaired? If someone made it; then someone can repair it. Most camera repair shops will tell you that the Nikon photomc meters cannot be repaired because there are no parts available. However, most of the meters only need a Cds cell replaced. These Cds cells are still available through electronic suppliers. The difficult part is recalibrating the meter for the new Cds cells. The parts that sometimes need replacing are: One or both of the Cds cells -- Very common for one of the Cds cells to need replacement The ring resistor -- Only about 5-10% of the meters I've repaired needed a new ring resistor The needle assembly -- about 10% of the photomic, T and Tn meters needed this replaced. The glass prism -- Well there is not much to do with a bad glass prism except replace it. By the
way, I have noticed that the sticky black foam that is placed around the prism actually causes
prism deterioration.
Most of the Nikon F and F2 meters can be repaired by replacing the worn Cds cells and
cleaning the contacts and ring resistors.
