Current Projects

Well, it's now the Winter of 2008. I have quite a few projects that I am working on. Here's a quick preview of some of these projects:
Fiction

I'm completing my first novel Craven's Law. It's a legal thriller that follows the life of a corrupt district attorney. The story is set in a fictional town in Connecticut where things are not exactly as they appear. The novel is currently in a revision stage, but look out for a possible release in 2008.

I'm also currently working on three short stories entitled: La Isla de los Espiritus, Six Days in September, and Dreaming. These stories are all nearly complete, so I'll soon be shopping them around soon. I'm also completing a YA Novel entitled Cell Phone to the Dead. My short story entitled Sawbuck will be released in the summer of 2007 as part of the Amazon Shorts Program.

You can find a reprint of an older story of mine entitled Transformation Revisited on the Buried.com website. I'm going to be doing a series of these stories in the vein of the old Horror stories of Poe and Kafka using the first person narrator. The second story that in this series is The Future Has No Memory. This story was originally published in the Firewoman collection.

My flash fiction stories Morning and The Bearded Lady were published by Flashshot. Don't know what Flashshot is, check out their website. It's an innovative website which delivers a daily dose of Flash Fiction to subscribers straight into their e-mail inbox. Grim is third flash fiction story that will debut this May.
Poetry

My Chapbook of Poems based on the Life and Death of Edgar Allan Poe is now available for purchase. The title of the manuscript is Seasons and it is available from Foothills Publishing. The Chapbook is #44 in the Springfed Chapbook Series. Check out a review from Dark Crypt by Mike McCarty. I'm currently translating it into Spanish with the title Estaciones.  I have two new chapbooks in the works: The Death of the Sideshow Freaks and Hawthorne.
Drama

I currently have one feature length stageplay entitled Keetli's Tale in consideration by a local production company. I'm also working on a short adaptation of the WW Jacobs classic, The Monkey's Paw.
Film

Interested producers can view my completed screenplay Raising the Seams which was adapted from my short-story of the same name. Anyone interested in producing this screenplay should contact me through e-mail at DShie24601@aol.com. In addition to this screenplay, any production companies interested in adapting my fiction into a short film or feature length film can also inquire through e-mail. I'm also working on a short film adaptation of The Monkey's Paw.

Sports

Check out my article about the 2001 World Series entitled: The Team That Made Us Forget: The 2001 New York Yankees which can be found at BaseballLibrary.com. Hopefully, this can emerge into a larger piece about the 2001 Yankees.
