MONTHLY MEETINGS
From September through May regular guild meetings are on the first Monday of the month.
NOTE: Occasionally it is NOT the first Monday and some months there is no meeting.

Most meetings are at The Depot, 506 W. Michigan Ave.

Check below OR the Guild Calendar for current dates, times and places.
Remember:
The outside door into The Depot is LOCKED at 7:00pm.

NEW MEETING FORMAT FOR 2007-08

Start at 6:30pm
with 6:30-7:00 for socializing & chatting about our love! (Fiber!)
Show and Tell at every meeting: Put items for sharing on the new SHARING TABLE, before the meeting. Share: in-progress or finished fiber projects, a book, a new gadget, etc. -- use your imagination! Items for Show and Tell should be on the table before the meeting begins and returned to the table after sharing, so they can be looked at by everyone after the meeting as well as before they are formally shared.during the meeting.
Bring a name tag to wear! Save it on the name tag hooks in the Fiber Studio Hall for future meetings.

Traditionally, the September Meeting is a Pot Luck at Lauri Cushing's home.

This is how it was in Sept. 2007:

Interesting and delicious food abounds!

First, fiber friends "break bread together" and enjoy reuniting after the summer break.

Then, there is a business meeting.
This is our President, Leslie Williamson White, leading the meeting.

The gathering ends with a Show and Tell. Rita is sharing a weaving.

Fiber artists are always looking for a fresh, new way to create one-of-a-kind projects.
By using unspun silk fibers whole projects or background fabrics may be designed.
It's possible to create your own "fabric" to embroider on , bead on, manipulate and shape, or just admire as is, without warping a loom!
Sample projects will be displayed with suggestions for achieving a variety of surface designs.
Various fibers and adhesives will be discussed, followed by a demonstration.
