Barbara Vigil is currently a flutist/piccoloist with The United States Army Band ("Pershing's Own") in Washington, D.C. As a member of "Pershing's Own," she has performed at Carnegie Hall , the White House, Kennedy Center, Nation's Capitol, Washington Monument, and the U.S. Airways Arena as well as appearing in the Columbia Motion Picture The Next Karate Kid.

In addition to performing as a member of Duo Con Brio with her husband, Kevin, Ms. Vigil is an active orchestral musician. She is a flutist with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the National, Arlington, Fairfax, and Santa Fe Symphonies. A teacher as well as a performer, Ms. Vigil is on the faculty of the Columbia Institute of Fine Arts.

Ms. Vigil holds an MM in flute performance from the University of New Mexico where she studied with Frank Bowen and served as his graduate teaching assistant; as well as a BM in flute performance, magna cum laude, from Southern Methodist University where she studied with Claire Johnson.
