Reaching out ...
I worry for the MISSING
everyday someone's gone...
Every minute's an hour
each breath seems so long.
Our son disappeared one day
and in my heart I cry...
I know not where he went
and I know not why.

Help & Hope
for families with a missing loved one.
Support &  Advice

"LoveWaits" is for anyone effected by a "missing person". We welcome interaction and sharing from any parent, grandparent, sibling, neighbor, teacher, and other caring people. We offer support and comfort, as well as strength and guidance, when a loved one is missing.

Who Are We?

We are parents, with children who have disappeared. We gather and draw strength from each other. We understand the misery and hurt a family may be dealing with when a youth is missing and/or runs away. We understand first hand what it is like not to have any active communication with a member of the family.

How Can You Help Us?

Occasionally we parents find ourselves needing moral support, and the need to lean on one another. If you are now or have recently experienced the trauma of a missing loved one, we hope you will share the insight you have learned, with us. Do you have any tips to offer parents about what to do, who to talk to, or what to expect while you try to find your child? If so we hope you will contact us soon, as we desperately seek your support, so we can help others.

What Do We Offer?

We offer guidance, confidentiality, and caring, from other parents in a similar situation. We also offer a network of professionally trained staff on-site who are available to anyone who would like a referral or is in a crisis situation.
If your child has runaway, disappeared, or is missing for any reason, whether for a day, a week, or longer, please contact us. We want to help.
How we started:
A short time after my 17 year old son disappeared (January 2001), I made a website sharing some of our family's personal trauma. The response was overwhelming, the support much needed, and so welcomed.
Over time we became increasingly aware that literally millions of other families find themselves in the midst of a similar situation.
The intolerable heartache, and lack of knowing where to turn made me want to reach out even more to share findings, and lend support to others who are tragically in a similar situation as ours.
Unifying resources we are now able to fill a void with support and comfort
to offer help and hope.
April 2002 "ID-Me":
Child Safety ID Kits are being used all over the country, unfortunately information from the kits generally remain in the hardcopy file if that person becomes missing.
We propose "ID-Me" a utilization of information in the kits be immediately placed into the NCIC database, thus allowing any missing person who is arrested to be properly identified and not remain missing if indeed using an alias name. The implementation of "ID-Me" could also aid to properly identify deceased missing persons who might otherwise continue to be known only as Jane or John Doe.
The procedure is already in place and is used for previously arrested persons, please help get the same identification procedures for our innocent missing.
