The Misadventures Around 1995, Linda Kay became interested in silent film comedian Buster Keaton after American Movie Classics featured his films in their annual Film Preservation Society. Having always been a fan of classic comedy, El Kaye began studying and collecting on Buster, which led her to a poster shop in Carlsbad one day. Her uncle was along with her as she searched for posters of Buster. Amazingly enough, in the corner of the store was a framed print of the classic comedian. Linda Kay and her Uncle went to the front counter to inquire if the print was available unframed. The young woman behind the counter began looking through catalogues, although it was clear she didn't have any idea of what they were talking about. When a second young clerk approached the counter, she asked what they were looking for. Linda answered, "Buster Keaton" to which the lady looking through the catalogues chimed in, "It's spelled K-I-T-T-E-N." This became a running joke between El Kaye and her uncle, and eventually she felt compelled to draw Buster Kitten. Out of this silly circumstance, Buster Kitten was born. Buster has since found a regular home amongst the pages of the Keaton Chronicle, the official publication of The Damfinos: The International Buster Keaton Fan Club. On the following pages are some sketches
which Linda Kay has drawn Complete
