News: The band is taking bookings for fall of 2005.
So far this year we've been back to Thermopolis, Helena, The Red Barn, and Lewistown. In August we'll be at Red Lodge and Absorkee, and in September we'll be in Cody and Miles City.
Stan and Annie played in Spain and London May of '03, and the Ramblers played the Last Chance Bluegrass Festival in Helena, the Red Lodge Bluegrass Festival (see the Billing's Outlook's review of the band's performance), the Chokecherry Bluegrass Festival and the Miles City Bluegrass Festival, Sweet Pea in Bozeman, Leaf and Bean, and St. John's Summer series, and filled in for the Lilly Brothers in Thermopolis. We continue to play at Molt. We
sure enjoyed the enthusiastic crowds and the great jamming. We played for DBC's employees at the Alberta Bair in December- lots of people, lots of music, and lots of fun!

Elk River Ramblers
Billings, MT
406.256.0083 Banjostan@aol.com
Elk River Ramblers plays bluegrass influenced, hard driving old-time, western, and folk music. Their sound is easily identifiable to the general public as bluegrass but the discernable bluegrass listener will realize its intense drive is powered by high flying fiddle and clawhammer banjo. With vocals led by the only female member of the group, the band features music from Laurie Lewis to Earl Scruggs, with a large dose of classic bluegrass and old-time songs and tunes, as well as contemporary songs from diverse folk and bluegrass artists, from Gordon Lightfoot to the original Dixie Chicks. Whether playing a Stephen Foster classic, or a new song from Claire Lynch, you’ll be tappin’ your toes or singing along with the Elk River Ramblers. The foursome features bass, guitar, banjo, and fiddle, with members occasionally swapping in a mandolin or fingerstyle guitar. Engagements have included the Round Barn at Red Lodge and festivals at Helena, Lewistown, Red Lodge, and Miles City.
