"Martins From Germany to America" by Tyre Lee Jennings. This is a fine personal compilation by Ty Jennings of Houston, Texas containing our Martin line from about 1660 forward to 1989. It contains family group sheets, pictures, copies of pertinent articles and information on cemetery epitaths and records. This work is at Coweta County Genealogy Society in Grantville, Ga and may be on microfilm also. I recommend this work to everyone studying this line.(3/26/2003)

Audubon named a woodpecker Picus Martini or Maria's Woodpecker.

Tubby called everbody cousin and was a scout for St Louis cardinals baseball recruiting such names as Luke Appling and Johnny Mize. Tubby also played semi-pro baseball. " Daniel Maedows and His Descendants 1779-1976" by Michal Martin Farmer. This out of print book is a great one for Martin, Meadows, Haynie and Todd in Coweta County and elsewhere. It has some good pictures of early ancestors and good genealogy layout for the Meadows and relatives lines. There are some nice stories and quotes of older ancestors in here.(added 3/18/2003).
