Epic Drone is a hardrock, rap-core, emo, drone band from Jacksonville, Fl.
Epic Drone's music is a combination of futuristic guitars with effects, sub and drop bass, hardcore music, untaimed lyrics, powerful vocals, and Epic Drone also has a very mellow side of their music with many layered guitars, digiboxes, and similar instruments to resemble some characteristics of drone music.
Epic Drone was started by J.T. Tappe along with best friend J. Austin Mangum in Oct. of 1997. Since then, Epic Drone has grown to be one of Jacksonville's best local bands live, musically, and lyrically. J.T. is the mind and powerhouse behind Epic Drone's music, and lyrics. All instruments except for acoustic drums are composed and arranged by J.T. with the help of Mangum.

Epic Drone
Mangum helps out with recording, engineering, mixing, looping, programming, and managing. Jonathan Weitzel, the amazingly talenteed drummer of Epic Drone lays down all of the acoustic drum parts. With the help of modern technology, Epic Drone also makes a remix to every song they write. Epic Drone records in the Lakewood area of Jacksonville, Florida in the "Bedside Manor Recording Studios". They are currently signed to AEsthetic Records Inc. managed by J. Austin Mangum, and his father Larry Mangum of the "Invisible Cowboys" band.
Many people think that just because Epic Drone has the word, "drone" in it, that they are a drone band. This statement is, however, very untrue. There is a deeper, musical, philosophical, and spiritual meaning behind the band's name which can only understood through the songs musically and lyrically.
