1) You (the human) should not get hurt. No horse is worth getting hurt.
2) The horse should not get hurt. No training method is worth hurting a horse to teach.
3) The horse should be calmer at the end of the lesson than it was at the start of the lesson. If this is not achieved...the training method does not work.
