The Copernican System

"If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."--Sir Isaac Newton

A Little About Me and this Web Site

Besides being a very enthusiastic amateur astronomer, I am also one of the last, life, governing members of the Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum in Chicago, IL. I own a Meade 8" Starfinder Dobsonian and observe as often as possible.

In case you were wondering, this is what I look like.

This Web site gives the visitor a few highlights in the history of astronomy, from Nicolaus Copernicus to Edwin Hubble, essays that I've written on various topics in astronomy, as well as many links to a wide variety of astronomical topics. I shall continue to make improvements to this site, offering new resources and information over time.

Here are some links that I hope you will find helpful, including the Web sites of other amateur astronomers, space telescopes/observatories, planetaria, ground-based observatories and astronomical references and resources.
