4/1/08 MY IMMORTAL HIGHLANDER by Hannah Howell & Lynsay Sands
Howell's story was by far the better of the two. Sands just tried too hard to make her plucky heroine funny and I ended up wanting to off her. Two vampire twins, Bothan and Calum set out to find their mates.

4/6/08 EMBRACE THE DARKNESS by Alexandra Ivy
Excellent follow up to her debut novel, When Darkness Comes. Will definately look for the next installment, out in May. Shay is half human/half Shallott Demon, and the last of her kind. She hates all vampires because they killed her father, so when she is sold as a slave to one of them she is NOT happy.

4/7/08 THE LAST TWILIGHT by Marjorie M. Liu
Seemed to be a little too much of the Laurens touch (incomplete thoughts/sentences). OK, but not my favorite characters. Rikki is a virologist called to a remote location in Africa, for what seems to be an Ebola epidemic. It appears that an entire village was sacrificed to lure her into a trap.

4/7/08 LET'S MISBEHAVE by Lisa Plumley
Was not all that excited about reading about a shopaholic, but Plumley pulls this off well. The characters are likeable and the story is well written. Marisol gets sent to an intervention program by her family and friends because she's a shopaholic. She ends up as a nanny/housekeeper for a quarterback trying to make a comeback.

4/12/08 AN ICE COLD GRAVE by Charlaine Harris
Third in the series, and quite enjoyable. I like where Ms. Harris is taking the characters. Looking forward to another (?) Harper and Tolliver are called in to find the bodies of 6 missing boys. A serial killer is at work and for once, the town is behind them (Harper and Tolliver).

4/13/08 BLOOD KIN by Ceridwen Dovey
Disturbing and thought provoking. Difficult for me to like some of the characters - none have names, just job titles. A look at a presidential coup, told from the point of view of three of the President's servants, and their women.

4/14/08 HIGH STAKES by Erin McCarthy
Lots of fun to read, but I think this is the second of a series? I kept feeling like I missed something and many of the ends were not wrapped up at the end.Alexis goes to save her sister from the clutches of a politician named Ethan. His brand of politics is vampire however, and his interest turns to Alexis.

4/17/08 WHO LOVES YA, BABY? by Gemma Bruce
It's pretty sad to say too much sex, but the H/h are going at it every other page, even when they don't like each other very much. The chickens are great. Julie is demoted to a desk job from detective, and returns home to take care of an inheritance. She and Cas have a past, and her deceased uncle seems to have planned their reunion.

4/22/08 WHERE THE HEART LEADS by Stephanie Laurens
What a sleeper. The cat box was looking good to me again, and I couldn't get through it. Last Laurens I pick up.

4/23/08 QUICKSAND by Iris Johansen
Fast paced page turner. Love the use of dialogue to move the story along. Have Eve and Joe found Bonnie's killer. They have a viable suspect and he's on the run and killing more people in a game to trap Eve.

4/24/08 RHETT BUTLER'S PEOPLE by Donald McCaig
Enjoyable, if flawed, version of GWTW. Doesn't bother to get the names of some battlefields spelled correctly, and has some discrepancies with the original story. Rhett Butler's life, and GWTW, thru his eyes.

4/27/08 OVER THE EDGE by Suzanne Brockmann
One of the SEAL novels that's really good. I got rid of a bunch because one of them sucked (and I can't remember which one)! Will have to look for more. Terry Howe just wants to fly, but she's pretty and gets harrassed. Stan steps in to help out and they bond over a terrorist situation in the Middle East.

4/27/08 THE KILLING GAME by Iris Johansen
One of the early Eve Duncan stories. Fast-Paced story with a twist at the end. Eve is caught up in a serial killer's game because he taunts her with the death of her daughter.

4/28/08 WHITE NIGHT by Jim Butcher
I got this at a give away at the library. Put it up for grabs and it was taken before I knew it. Had to read it before I mailed it and I'm glad I did. Went and got all the Harry Dresden books I could, just to catch up with the story. Great Series!
