Opus Magnum: Awareness
|
|
|
Will
This kind of environment requires a new approach to dealing
with the future. It is no longer reasonable---in light of the
fact that we are aware of these issues and their potentialities
--- to just sit back and let the future happen. We are at a time
of punctuated human evolution---we must rapidly change the way we
think, what our values are, and quickly invent some new tools that
will help us to make sense of all that is happening. We must
actively change our future.

|
|
|
Reason
The way we do that is by developing a strong, vibrant set of common
visions of our most desired future.
These characteristics are starting to become clear. The systems
nature of the world in which we all live suggests that cooperation
rather than just competition must start to become a major
consideration in all of our deliberations and decisions. We must
begin to see things holistically--- as a system---in order to make
sense out of what we should do and what we want to accomplish.

Critical Mass
The critical mass of enlightenment can be defined as the smallest
number of awakened human beings whose collective influence can initiate
a significant shift in global consciousness. The process of creating
enough enlightened ones to achieve this critical mass can be likened
to the transformation of coal into diamonds. The pressure of
surrounding human unconsciousness creates an urgency in the potential
enlightened one to awaken from illusion. The total weight of so much
unconscious 'carbon' exerts a tremendous pressure, through which a
few coal stones reach the appropriate mass to become 'diamonds.'
These awakened beings embody the crystal clarity of enlightened
consciousness which can transform the level of consciousness of
the entire planet.
