~greetings~

you've found shahara lefay, an ordained priestess of earth spirituality ( a faery tradition ) and novice to hinduism/buddhism, but foremost a mother of five, from a college student down to a 4 year old. i am a writer and a poet, working on the first of a trilogy of novels, in a spiritual / erotic / utopian vein. i also write political / alternative essays, but poetry is my passion.

my wish for the year is peace within my family, and peace to the world, ahh, and love...simple immensely passionate supplication }:^D

~lifestyle~

i'm vegan (mostly!), i try to live without harming anyone or anything (ahimsa), and seek a simple, low-impact lifestyle ... i am interested in off-grid living, solar/wind energy, recycled homes, travel by bike or foot, backpacking and camping, sustainable living, and community or tribal living ...we are homeschoolers too ... the future will bring us on a global quest to bring peace to those who seek ... i love to make friends from all over the world ( particularly the terrasoluna listee folks ! see link below ), and hope to meet one day when we begin our nomading; i am a bit of a techy mac geek, so with ibook will travel =] i also frequent coffeehouses and drummings and the occasional thrift store (shunning retail as much as i am able) love odd quirky music, wyrd indie folk industrial etc, and enjoy knitting and beading, drawing and watercolours, particularly anime, (i love anime/manga!) as well as peaceful anarchy and activism ... the wyrd world of harry potter plays an interesting part of my life =) i also got a guitar for yule, and am trying to learn it, hopefully put my poetry to music

~a quiet life~

isn't a dull life, if one enjoys a rich inner life ... i love reading and learning, yoga and meditation, conversation and discussion, unconditional love and light, giving *and* receiving; but yes, basically i am a cancer and a contented hermitrix.

Toil and Task

As I toil and task
My mind has a thought
Constant
Pulsing through my blood
As I tend to children
Cook our meals
Wash the laundry
It wafts through my soul
As I change one more diaper
Sweep dirty floors
Wash the dishes
It chills my skin
As I pick up toys
Sort messy garbage
Make the beds
It creeps up my belly
As I nurse the baby
Go through mail
Scrub the stove
It ignites my heart
As I write grocery lists
Make a budget
Pay the bills
It swirls with my aura
As I answer the phone
Vacuum rugs
Tuck children in bed
One thought never ceasing
As I think of you
Wanting you
To touch me
And I you.

I feel your smooth silky hair and touch
my fingertips upon your body
Remnants of your skin
rest in my fingernails life
crawling up my hand.
I dig deeply but you are too hard.
I fall down upon you,
breathing deeply your earthy scent
and be one with you
Your child.
My soul is invigorated with your spirit.
I lay upon you and turn to face the sun.
Divine feminine carries me
Divine masculine saturates me,
Earth, cool soil; Sun, warm fire,
