UsingEnglish.com
is a very large website directed in large part to the teaching of English
as a Second Language ("ESL") and to the needs of ESL teachers.

Wyrdplay.org
provides a hyperlink list of many different spelling-reform websites.
It also contains a long poem that shows the confusing, mutually contradictory
patterns of present spelling, entitled
"The Chaos". In places,
you can see that there would be confusion only if one uses British
pronunciations, but most of the poem applies to all major dialects. It's
a good resource for people who may have trouble providing examples of how
trying to "sound out" current spelling is undoable.
