North American Air Defense

I am Bob Kendig, Fertile 80. That was my callsign while serving at 20th Norad Region, Fort Lee, Virginia. I was combat ready at most all of the positions described on this site with the exception of the Battle Commander. I also was rated Expert Enlisted Weapons Controller (EWC) and Expert Weapons Control Technician (WCT) Weapons Director and Technicial (WD and WDT). I also performed duties as Instructor  Weapons Controller/Technician and Weapons Controller/Tech Standardization and Evaluation (STANEVAL) NCOIC.

This site will be your guided tour of the AC&W (Aircraft Control and Warning) System in North America during the Cold War.
