Sea of Mist
Sea of Mist pranced about and tossed her head. Leiabeth crooned approval. The blacksmith smiled and nodded at his work. Sea of Mist was fully clad in the light and strong armor of the dragonknights, making her an official knight now. I can fly in this.... right? she asked as she flexed her bare wings.

The blacksmith nodded."It should be light enough and flexible enough not to be too much of a hinderance. You can go try it out right now if you wish."

Sea of Mist nodded and trotted outside. She crouched and then leapt into the air, beating her silvery wings. Sure enough she made it into the air and she circled around several times before landing again. Yes, this is quite all right. Thank you for your good effort. Sea of Mist nodded respectfully and left. Leiabeth watched her as she came back out.

I like the way that you look in your armor, the leaf-green said. It makes you look almost like a dragon. A silver-scaled dragon with feathered wings and a furry tail.

Sea of Mist smiled at her bond. Yes, it makes me feel like a dragon too, armored and powerful and large. Let us head back to Cy now. Once more she took to the air with her dragon following. Sea of Mist was hardly the first non-human bonded to a dragon at Cy. There were the draconic draces with their long tails that also had to get armor and even a small flitter that now wore the silvery plates. Cy really was such an interesting place with many different people and creatures. Sea of Mist could not imagine anywhere more interesting that she could possibly go.

Nor can I, remarked Leiabeth as the white tower came into view. There are so many different dragons there as well, each from a different world....

Speaking of worlds made Sea of Mist remember her own home world and a little bit of sadness creapt into her heart. She would never again see more of her own kind, a Wynd of Change, or run through the fields of her homeland. Leiabeth crooned softly, unhappy that something that she had said had distressed her bond. Sea of Mist shook her head, causing her pink mane to flutter in the wind. It wasn't you my dear friend. How silly am I thinking of the past. Wherever you are is home enough for me. And the two of them flew back to Cy as the sun began to set.

Head back home? Leiabeth is from Abri Weyr! Would you like to read Sea of Mist's candidate story?
