Flies. Diptera

Two winged insects. Flies, gnats, mosquitos, this is a very large group and many of them visit flowers, especially Syrphid flies or flower flies. Some of them are fairly good pollinators, although they are not as hairy as bees and as efficient in carrying pollen.

A good bee mimic. It lays eggs near bee nests and ts larvae feed on bee larvae.
