Schmidt and Sons Taxidermy

The Schmidt family has been involved in taxidermy for at least six generations. We have recently begun a retail operation specializing in fish. By concentrating on fish we can offer quicker service and a variety of special services. We have tried to combine the best of some very old and new techniques.

services

Our business is primarily fish. We do skin mounts as well as reproductions, and we have many different backgrounds and scenes. We welcome repair work, and repainting, and take pride in our ability to produce quality work on damaged and badly handled fish.

Other services

We sometimes have pre-mounted fish and animals for sale. Occasionally we do other types of taxidermy, but only if it causes no delay to our fish customers.
We also do crustaceans such as crawfish, crabs, and shrimp. We can add these to your scene, or do it individually.

PRICES:
generally we charge $8 per inch for skin mounts, and $11 for reproductions. However there are exceptions for special cases. Minimum for crustaceans is $50.
Large fish such as trophy gar can also be mounted, under negotiable prices.
