NEW AUGUST PICTURES
On August 14, 2001, I met with Mr. Richard Siers so he could look at my airplane.  He spent a good deal of time with me looking over my airplane and offering his thoughts on what I needed to do next and what could use improvements.  Luckily, there was nothing about its construction that raised any alarm bells.  One piece of sad news for me, the flap that I had purchased from Mr. Buethe was partially destroyed when the saw horse holding up my plane collapsed.  Oh well, now I must eventually rebuild it.  This will be good experience for me.

On another note, I thought I had an engine for my plane...but, the gentleman who was going to sell it to me did a final inspection and found some things wrong....I guess the search is still on.  No rush I guess.  I am just happy the fellow was honest with me about the engine's condition.
This is a photo of the T-18 canopy that Glenn at Gee Bee Canopies blew for me.  On the floor infront of the canopy is the windshield.  Both, as you can see, have a slight smoked tint to them.  The windshield shouldn't be too tough to cut out, but, that canopy will be a real bear.  I have already drawn the trim outline for the rear windows on that glass, but it isn't pictured here.
This is a picture of the right elevator that I just applied a light fiberglass covering to.  One thing I discovered is that the enviornment in which you laminate is very important.  I did some pieces in the winter when it was cold and humid...those pieces have yet to cure fully.  FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS.
I don't know what those darn yellow stripes are....but, this is a shot of me covering the fairing with fiberglass.  Exciting huh?

This is a shot looking at the two strobe power units that I installed right next to the hydraulic gear pump.
Shot of the NACA scoop I installed.  I am not sure that this was a smart move.  It may blow right onto your arm when it's open.  Plus, in wet weather, it may leak water?  We'll see I guess.
