THE EAGLE HAS FLOWN by Jack Higgins "
Product Details:  Hardcover: 335 pages  Publisher: Simon & Schuster (February 1, 1991) ISBN: 0671724584
While 'The Eagle Has Flown' is considerably weaker than the 'The Eagle Has Landed,' it nevertheless is a great adventure story that takes the reader through the underworld of World War Two espionage. At times it almost mimics 'Landed' in it's characters and situations, and the ending is not terribly credible to anyone who has studied the Nazi structure. But despite this, 'The Eagle Has Flown' is a wonderful story in the great Jack Higgin's tradition.

CIRCUS OF AMBITION: THE CULTURE OF WEALTH AND POWER IN THE EIGHTIES by John Taylor
Product Details: Hardcover: 240 pages Publisher: Warner Books Inc (October 1, 1989)
ISBN: 0446514845
Arguing that our growing conservatism in things political goes hand in hand with American society's increasing interest in wealth, appetite for conspicuous consumption and yearning for power, Taylor ( Storming the Magic Kingdom ) offers an entertaining if controversial analysis of the causes of these allied developments and their impact on all aspects of life. Our "money culture," he contends, was sanctioned by religious leaders such as Jerry Falwell--and by bluestocking charities and institutions like New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art, avid for new money. Taylor maintains that despite the 1987 stock market "crash," our current crippling deficit, economic and social polarization, the money culture's yen for quick profits continues unabated.

One night hiding in Griffith Park, Billy witnesses the butchering of Lisa Ramsey, the cokehead ex-wife of Cart Ramsey, a crummy actor-golfer once busted for pummeling Lisa. Did Cart knife Lisa, or was it his pathetic old football sidekick Greg Balch?

BY-LINE, ERNEST HEMINGWAY: SELECTED ARTICLES AND DISPATCHES OF
FOUR DECADES by Ernest Hemingway
Product Details: Hardcover  479 pages  Publisher: Collins (1968) NO ISBN
Hemingway's fiction and journalism frequently interchange themes and even wholesale passages. This takes nothing away from either, rather demonstrating that good writing finds application in either venue. It is a vastly interesting piece of work to a reader that has an intrinsic interest in Hemingway, and his life and times. It is less interesting to the reader looking for a story, though there are some great ones in there. These pieces added a lot to my understanding of an american icon.
