AFRICAN WOMEN'S CHARITY ORGANIZATION

About the African Women's Charity Organization

Charity means Love. In the spirit of love for our Mother Africa, the African Women's Charity Organization was developed in 2000. It is an organization of African women and friends, working towards the independence of African people so that African people will not have to be dependent on any other people. We are a part of building African Women's and Youth Movements, which includes a vision of having our own collective childcare, housing, kitchens, transportation, and employment. Because we understand that Africa is our home(even though some of us may not have been born in Africa)and that charity begins at home, we feel a sense of responsibility to do what we can to help at home. We choose women because of the work that women have been doing historically in society as the base of society. We are organizing conferences throughout the U.S.
Our projects have been, "Support for Eritrea", "Pennies for Angola" and currently "Pennies for Zimbabwe."
We chose these places because of the work that our Sisters have done as examples towards independence, unity, and self-reliance. We continue to collect pennies to buy seeds and tools for the women and youth farmers in Zimbabwe.

Our 14th conference, an AFRICAN WOMEN'S and YOUTH CONFERENCE is scheduled for Sat. March 8, 2008 in Accra, Ghana. The theme is:The Importance of Self-Reliance. We are building African Women's & Youth Movements which are necessary in order to educate, mobilize and organize the largest number of African women and youth possible.We need your participation for the success of this dynamic Conference.
Topics include: The Necessity of Organization * Relationships * How to build Women and Youth Movements * Solidarity with Women & Youth of the World * Education * Healthcare/AIDS * Women and Leadership * Technology * Media
***All of our conferences are free so that money won't be the reason for anyone not attending.
We are calling on everyone who wants to make a serious contribution to the unification of African people to participate in this conference.

We do seminars on the "History of Humanity with an emphasis African Women." You should sponsor this seminar in your area.

"PENNIES FOR ZIMBABWE"

We need volunteers who can place containers in stores or business for "pennies". We took $2,120 to Zimbabwe in October, 2004 and $300 in 2006. We want a delegation to go again in October 2008. Our goal is $10,000. Please send us your donations? You can sponsor a youth to go to meet other youth in Zimbabwe.

MEMBERSHIP AND OTHER SUPPORT

A one year Membership of $20 which will help our day to day costs - mailing, office supplies, etc. You will receive a membership card and our regular newsletters.
