and help raise money for Friends of Triangle Seniors and Food Assistance? Well, send a check or money order made out to FTSFA in the amount of $25.00 (this includes $3.00 for shipping) or $22.00 (if the book will be picked by you at the FTSFA main office [there is no shipping in this case]) Send your check or money order to: FTSFA 105 St. Ayers Way Chapel Hill, NC 27517

Are you having a yard sale or do you know of someone that is having a yard sale? Are you (or they) interested in selling yard sale items to raise money for FTSFA? Well, if so, contact Mark Prokop at 919-493-2982. Mark has extra items (other than what you have to sell) that can be sold at any yard sale.
FTSFA is also interested in running a thrift shop to sell used furniture, toys, clothes, etc. to the general public. If anyone is interested in having all of the used furniture, toys, clothes, etc. stored at your business/church/house/building/etc. - all of the items could also be sold at your business/church/house/building/etc. - then please contact Mark Prokop at 919-493-2982
Currently, we need the following:
1) Money (See the list below of food items that are given to people of the Triangle but are not typically donated - so we have to have money to buy these items)
Note (related to #1 above): For the first four months of 2004, we have spent $644.91 on food from grocery stores for needy individuals, couples, and families in the Triangle. Please donate some money to FTSFA so we can continue to purchase perishable foods from grocery stores. You can also look below for items that you can purchase yourself at a grocery store (instead of making a donation to FTSFA) and drop off the items at the FTSFA office or in one of the food bins at one of the food drop off points (Look at the top of our webpage for our food drop off points)
2) More Non-Perishable Food (More Food Drives) 3) More Volunteers 4) More Board Members (email Mark Prokop at ftsfa@nc.rr.com) to request a board member application) 5) A Place to run FTSFA out of so we can store the following: a.Non-perishable food (that we would give out), b.Shelving [to store the non-perishable food] & refrigerators/freezers [to store perishable foods] c.Refrigerated truck(s) – to perform pickup and delivery of non-perishable food d.Company vehicle(s) – to used for all senior citizen services and all non-pickup and delivery business of FTSFA e.Clothing/furniture/toys/other items (to be used for our future thrift shop [so we can sell “clothing/furniture/toys/other items” and make sure that some revenue is continuously coming in]), f.Office space (for at least one, but for the future, possibly up to three people), office equipment, furniture, computers, etc. g.Yard work equipment [lawn mowers, trimmers/edgers, rakes, shovels, gloves, extension cords, gasoline containers with gasoline in them, etc.] h.Home repair tools, wood, nails, paint, other home repair supplies, etc. i.Any other items (as they occur)
If any individual or any business can help us out with storage space for any or all of the above items (or donate/help us buy any or all of the above items), then please contact us. All donations to Friends of Triangle Seniors and Food Assistance are tax-deductible.
OTHER FORMS OF PLANNED GIVING
As a nonprofit organization offering award-winning service, Friends of Triangle Seniors and Food Assistance (FTSFA) relies on contributions to enable us to serve those who cannot afford to pay for the services and also allow us to plan for the future. The following are some options for planned giving. Talk with your attorney or financial professional, and determine how giving to FTSFA can be in the best interest of you and the people you are helping. Contributions are, of course, tax deductible. (Federal tax identification number 20-0068332.)
Bequests There are several forms of bequests that can be made to support our work:
Specific Bequest - usually a stated dollar amount. It can also be a gift of securities, real estate or tangible personal property
Residual Bequest - names FTSFA to receive all or a percentage of the remainder of the estate after specific bequests have been fulfilled
Contingent Bequest - takes effect only if all primary beneficiaries named in the will have predeceased the donor. Declaring FTSFA a contingent beneficiary can prevent the property from going to the state if there are no heirs
Gift of Life Insurance A gift of life insurance may also be made to FTSFA. You can:
Make FTSFA the beneficiary of an existing policy
Make FTSFA the owner and beneficiary of an existing policy
Take out a new policy with FTSFA as the owner and beneficiary
FTSFA recognizes friends who have remembered FTSFA through planned giving, such as bequests and gifts of life insurance. All friends who document their planned gifts will be welcomed as members of the FTSFA Society. If you are considering making a planned gift to FTSFA, talk with your attorney or financial advisor. All information provided to FTSFA will be held in confidence. If we may offer more information to you, please write or call Mark Prokop, Executive Director, at 919-493-2982.
