Declaration I
   DECLARATION I

        Here I am,
        Another day has past,
        I am still alone...
        Tears flow from my face,
        Pain throbs in my heart.

        A friend with whom
I will not bare my soul,
For her own soul is burdened
        With undue torment.

        A lover with whom
There is no time to unwind
        And confide the innermost desires
        Of my longing soul.

A son who longs to share,
Has need of my towering strength.
        I the master of determination,
        The creator of my destiny.

        I am the oak tree,
        I stand tall and brave,
        Determined to grow to
        And beyond the sky.

        Fearlessness but a dream away,
        Courageousness rooted in faith,
        Strength not weakened by storm,
        Grace of the masculine form.

Weary am I of standing alone,
        Times of need not fulfilled.
        Lend me your tower
        That I may sustain strength.

        Give me time for perspective,
Time out...to be taken care of.
        I am drained of serving,
And am in need of service.

        Time to be made special,
        Rewards for my counsel,
        Spoken appreciation,
        Gratitude expressed.

        People rejoice for my compassion,
        Understanding, and sensitivity.
Admire my honesty and self perpetuated growth,
Yet fear the confidence that I am.

In me, do they find less of themselves
When they could actually find more?
Think they, that I am without effort
To become and be that which I am now?

Harbor your fear a part from me.
By your own choice you are small.
        Drained not my life force,
        Plaque not my fertile ground.

I am not to be feared, embrace me.
        My contention is to enlighten
And bring forth joy to those
Whose life in which I partake.

        Be gone searching and researching.
        Be gone small minds.
I am ready to flourish and commit.
        The place...Welcome and Acceptance.

        Resist not your own wisdom,
Enlighten me and share your joy,
        Permit me part of you,
        Trust the good in me.

Take root and grow with me.
        Come forth harmony and balance!
        Come forth love and joy!
        Claim your place in me...
