UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
Beneath that cold and distant exterior
Lies a sensitive yet fear filled heart.
For if fear does not exist within,
There would be no need
To project an image that is not.
This perception extends through my soul
Which insights not the obvious,
But that which is hidden from the eyes and ears,
Yet cannot be hidden from the soul.
Thus, I feel, hear, and see
A warm, creative, loving man.
I can accept your distance.
For if it brings comfort to you, it is good.
I know we have no bond,
For you have not let me in.
Fear me not, for I will not abuse you,
Nor do I wish to be abused.
Fear alone does not render man weak:
Giving it control is the error.
Rising above it affords strength:
Creating a firmer foundation
In which to build.
I have found strength
In the tenderness of your touch
And in the depth of your eyes.
I do not deny you doubt.
Doubt gives reason to explore ones possibilities
and need not end in failure.
One succeeds or fails by choice.
Accept it or reject it!
It matters not the strength of your belief.
All things can change with faith except truth.
Truth is the one thing
That is steadfast and unchanging.
Upon truth we can rely above all else.
I too have fears,
Fears of giving more than can be received.
Perhaps there is a chance
You can receive me and I you,
only time will decide.
Since time is of the essence,
I wish not to deny myself of your presence,
For I love you.
Since love need not be eternal,
I shall be content to partake
Of that which you are willing to share.
If yesterday is all you will allow,
I will not be rejected.
Yesterday was in itself
Love to be remembered.
Perhaps exposing my love
Will cause denial of love.
But I would have you know
The intimacies of my heart,
Rather then deny you of the truth.
I fear not pain...
And shall not deny myself because of fear.
For loving is so much more rewarding,
Than running away from love.
