In Memory of Jack

Jack was the pride and joy of every family member and friend of our farm. He was the ambassador of our rescue organization and was able to show both horse and non-horse people that the drafts breeds are way more than just huge size but also huge heart! Jack came from a rough beginning and I found him at a local sale barn. He followed me everywhere I went and wouldnt let me out of his sight or any other horses in that pen around me. I just couldnt seem to leave that pen...or that sale without bringing him home with me. He was anything but an attractive guy... he was very muley looking with huge ears, doe looking eyes and an awful little amish boy haircut. But with love and care..and several inches of gorgeous mane he grew into this amazing gorgeous horse. He was my pride and joy! He allowed my 12 year old to experience the joys of the show ring (even beating out some fancy QHs) and me the quiet peacefulness of the local trails and backroads. He was an amazing babysitter to our babies and a great friend to our other equine family. He was a teacher for those not aware of the plight of creatures like himself and a friend when I needed someone to listen to my troubles. He was the first to greet you and the last to leave only when you walk away...and sometimes he would follow just to make sure you really had to leave. He would stand with me at the top of the large summer pasture in the early mornings of summer and watch as the others grazed...he only concerned with getting his regular dose of kisses and hugs. His only concern being that I have company while I was there.
I cant even express in words or emotions just how much I am going to miss
MY FRIEND....
He was a care giver to my children and a constant companion to me...
I will FOREVER love him
&
will ALWAYS miss him
