Meaning of the Flag
The flag of Mexico was selected in 1821. Various meanings for the three colors have been given over the years. The original meanings were: green for the color of the land that is now free and independent; white for our respect for the church; red for the color of the blood that flows alike through all of us. It was said that Vicente Guerrero was the main designer of the flag and the author of its meanings.
