Puppies born at Gail's Rats Nest are required to pass stringent proficiency tests before they are available for placement. This rigorous program takes place in our Puppy Lab and is implemented by our team of experts pictured below. No puppy leaves until testing is completed and passed.

JUNIOR TEAM
have achieved basic level puppy handing expertise and may initiate puppy procedures under the watchful eye of senior team members. Slackers are immediately reported to upper management.

SLOBBER LEVEL TEAM Still in intensive human basic training, these miniature specimens are frighteningly primitive and unpredictable. Since they pose grave danger to puppies, they are ONLY allowed limited access and ONLY under the watchful eye of the EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR. Future refinement appears unlikely but will be required before they are considered for upper team levels.

LARVAE LEVEL TEAM
3 new human specimen applicants arrived this past year and we have developed a new team level. For the first 6 months our "Larvae Level" applicants are barely able to master their own sleep patterns and elimantion processes. Basic puppy lab triaining begins after 6 months with closely supervised access.

|
FIRST 24 HOURS
In the 1st 24 hours our new lab arrivals must pass elimination protocols
and become proficient at frequent and rigorous suckling rituals.
FIRST WEEK
In the first week the GRN Puppy Lab Executive Director (GAIL)
inflicts frequent stroking and face kissing procedures on the newcomers. This is referred to as "Early Socialization" and Junior and Senior Team members are encouraged to participate under strict Executive supervision.
SECOND through FOURTH WEEK
Socialization procedures continue with Senior Team members performing all of the above tasks and supervising Junior Team Members in the same. Slackers are reported immediately to upper management. De-worming meds are initiated, solids are introduced, and the weaning process begins in the fourth week.
FIFTH through SIXTH WEEK
Weaning continues at an increasing pace. Outside adventures are included where our adult Rat Terriers instruct the pups in canine protocols, pack behavior, and pecking order concepts. Vaccinations for DA2P+CPV are started. Visitors and pre-qualified depositers complete the final selection process
SEVENTH and EIGHT WEEK
Puppies are MICROCHIPPED to protect them against loss or theft. Puppies may leave with their new forever families at 7 weeks old. Shipped puppies must be 8 weeks old.
