Free Workshops July 20 - 23, 2008

The NorthEast WoodCarvers Roundup is a very un-structured, no pressure, carefree carving event with very few guidelines. No matter what your age, if you already carve, would like to improve your skills,
or would like to learn how, come for a few quiet
days of wood carvers getting together to have a great time cutting up!!! The only cost would be for materials needed for the workshops. Non carving Visitors welcome at anytime during the Roundup. We will also have some craft workshops available each day. SUNDAY AFTERNOON FOR EARLY
ARRIVALS, Light refreshments 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.(Remember CAMPGROUND check in starting at 5 p.m. you can still just park come to Hall #1) and Register for
the Roundup and meet your fellow carvers and workshop leaders.. EVENING ACTIVITIES; SUNDAY EVENING ** Registration, Supper on your own (The Country Kitchen will be open for light suppers) Meet the workshop leaders at 6 P.M. plus 2 hour mini workshops 7 to 9 p.m. MONDAY EVENING & TUESDAY EVENINGS Take a workshop, Join a jam or joke secession or just sit back and relax. Also MONDAY *music in the park, Honeadale.(bring lawn chairs or blanket). MONDAY EVENING * TRADE BLANKET, so if you have something related to carving to trade bring it along, TUESDAY EVENING * Ice Cream Social (donation) Hall #1 7 p.m., also
bring your instrument of choice, musical or carving for
a relaxing evening get together. WEDNESDAY EVENING Farewell Covered Dish Supper, 6 to 7 p.m.(bring a covered dish) (WalMart only 6 miles away). Join the EGG
CARVING in the round from 7 - 8 (Each participant
will start with a bass wood egg, you will carve for 5 minutes and then pass the egg on, this event
is finished when you get your egg back.Limit 16 carvers so sign up early. JAM SESSION * Following the egg carve we will have a
JAMMING GOOD TIME, bring your instrument & join in. Fish Bowl Drawing, & Raffles to offset the cost of chair & table rental etc. SUPPORT THE ROUNDUP WE ARE TOTALLY UNFUNDED AND MUST PAY FOR TABLE & CHAIR RENTALS, PRINTING ETC.
E-PRINTS of Honesdale will have T-Shirts.
Tools will be available on site.

NON CARVING CRAFT WORKSHOP: We are looking for anyone interested in sharing a craft.

carving knife and gouges (#9 Sweep-5mm, #11 - 3mm, #9-3/8", #7- 1/2" He will have several extras
for students to use. Pete teaches in a very structured
manner, step by step. Thus to get the full benefit
of the class students must be there a the start abd
stay thru the end of the workshop.

Pre requisite for carving: Learn the proper way
to sharpen your carving knife; Each morning Bob
Muller will have a class from 8 - 9, so before
you start a workshop, make sure you know how to
sharpen your carving knife. Workshop leaders will
ask if you have taken this class if you are a novice carver. Just come by Bob's table and sit in. This will be in the CENTER of Hall #1.

Carving Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday 9 till 12 and 1 to 4ish. WE WILL ALSO HAVE MINI WORKSHOPS SUNDAY, MONDAY & TUESDAY EVENINGS
MATERIALS * for the workshops provided at nominal cost.

ADULT & CHILDREN'S WORKSHOPS * Nominal fee.Will list crafts as they come in. #1. The Art of
Tea Bag Folding (make two cards) bring small scissors. (8 per class) #2 Christmas in July, make an ornament .We will list other workshops as they
come in. ARLAND ZIELER * soap carving for anyone.

Women's Table for chatting, knitting and sharing
your craft or just relaxing, come over and join
in all are welcome.

EVENING MINI WORKSHOPS: 7 Till ??? WILL ADD EVENING MINI WORKSHOPS AS THEY COME IN. Check the workshop boards in Hall #1. These boards will have
workshops, leaders name, days and times.

If you are interested in a specific project and
do not see it listed let us know and we will
try and set up a workshop.
