The Georgia Big Band consists of seventeen instrumentalists and a vocalist, all professional musicians from the Middle Georgia area. Organized in 1988, this regional band originated out of the Dublin Jazz Band and was renamed to the Georgia Big Band in 2001 as they mustered musicians from all over Middle Georgia. The band consists of musicians with varied backgrounds, such as band directors and former military musicians, who come together regularly to perform music they love. We are dedicated to preserving the big band tradition and bringing quality music to the public.
The Georgia Big Band performs a wide variety of musical styles, old and new, and has performed for a diversity of functions. Since inception, they have performed for colleges, art associations, concert series, civic functions, wedding receptions, dances, churches and private functions.
Whether it is a fund raiser, corporate event, festival, ball, wedding reception, dance, or public concert, the Georgia Big Band is ready to support your event. If you are staging a show or special event and require a backup orchestra, then the Georgia Big Band is what you need. Save rehearsal time with this group of professional musicians who rehearse and perform together regularly.
