DRIVE or Fly

I am Gene Bunkley & my son's name is Ken. We have been lucky to live our dreams. Isn't it time you did something you have always dreamed of? And if not now, when will you have the time for yourself--next year? If you have the time off, you may be able to come along.

These are family gold claims on Bonanza, Confederate Gulch, Butte Discovery, & Miller Creeks that you may drive or fly to. It is a father-son operation with only a few invited guests. We are located off a gravel road (Alaska Highway #6 the Steese) between 98 to 114.5 miles northeast of Fairbanks, Alaska in the Circle Mining District. This is for the Prospectors that can do & plan for themselves. The one's that have the time & have earned the right to really experience Alaska. And, hopefully, the knowledge to return home with the Gold. This is not a planned, guided tour; you have your choice of furnishing your own transportation, camping, and mining gear or flying up and sharing in the use of ours. You will be allowed complete access to all parts of all claims both hard rock & placer.

We can furnish room, food & equipment or just a flat spot to camp, good gold claims, and in case of one's flying up, use of ATV's & dredging equipment. We have been in Alaska long enough to know the gold, the wilderness, and some of the creatures.

If you drive you may either stay in camp with us or bring your own gear, dredges and items needed for your own camp. The drive to Alaska is an adventure in itself, which should not be missed. Most of your time will be spent prospecting, dredging, or high-banking but there will be necessary trips to Fairbanks or Central City for swimming in Arctic Hot Springs, supplying camp, fishing, and Church. Birch, Bonanza, & Porcupine are all good fishing creeks. We are surrounded by mountains and domes but the placer claims are in the creeks and valleys with views that are unbelievable. The summers are warm, never hot and sun shines 24-7.

You must have the knowledge of the wild and prospecting and be able to take care of yourself & watch out for your partner or me.

If you fly we can supply transportation and equipment. We will provide camp, food and dredge time each day. You will be required to work 3 four hour days to share in the common. The rest of the day will be yours to spend as you like, prospecting for gold or seeing the wild. This trip is to share what I have come to love!
