PURPOSE

This trip is for the prospectors who want to experience Alaska at its best & have some idea of what it is like. It is for one who is familiar with the wild or with self-camping. It is not a tourist camp by any means --it is flat rock camping with leaders who have done it for years and in sharing their claims & camps. It is for a few that can afford the trip but do not expect the luxuries they enjoy at home.

However rough it is, it is the way I live. It was set up to be as low of a cost as possible. I did this because I go to Alaska to dig for gold & return home with the same.

It will not be possible for anyone to get enough gold in couple weeks to offset the cost of getting to & from Alaska. However if you try, you will get some pretty nice gold and surely have the trip of a lifetime.

For anyone wishing to buy gold & not come to Alaska, we have some for sale. Guess where we got it and how hard we worked for it.

If you like steak, eat your fill before leaving home. Spam, beans, and coffee are the life's blood around my camp, maybe with a little caribou or grayling thrown in.

We have allowed people to come to Butte for the last 5 years and for Bonanza this will be the second year. The main reason for letting dredgers on the claims is the present price of gold. When and if the price rises above $300, then I expect to start pushing yellow metal again. And this year, having just added additional 28 virgin claims up stream we expect that 2002 will be excellent. With the addition of landing strip and several more crew members I feel assured this will be the best year yet.
