First Generation
1. Thomas1 Vissage was christened in St. George the Martyr Parish, Southwark, London, 22 Sept 1702. He was the son of James Vissage. His mother is unknown. Thomas indentured himself to John Dykes to serve 4 years on a plantation in St. Christopher's Island in 1722. In February, 1736 he was accused of stealing a pewter Galleon pot worth 3 shillings from the shop of George Churchey. He imprisoned in Newgate Prison, London, 25 Feb 1736. He was sentenced to transportation to the Colonies. He departed 16 May 1736 aboard the Patapsco Merchant which sailed with Captain Frances Lux along with 124 others who had also been sentenced to transportation. The ship arrived at Baltimore, Maryland. It is most likely that Captain Lux sold him into indenture for 7 or 14 years.
He married Hannah ____ at an unknown location. Three of Thomas Visage and Hannah's children were registered in St. George Parish records in Baltimore county (later Harford county) Maryland.
2 i. James2 Vissage was born 31 Mar 1753 Baltimore county Maryland. On the 1790 Harford county Maryland census there are six females in the household of James Visage. On the 1800 Harford county Maryland census, James has seven females, three males in his household. In 1810 there are seven females and four males. By 1820 his household consists of James, age 77, a male and female between 26 and 45 years and a female less than 10 years old.

Second Generation
4. Jacob2 Vissage (Thomas1) was born in Harford Co MD 1 Apr 1758. He married Elizabeth ?Williams?. Jacob Visage lived for a while in North Carolina. Thomas Visage,most likely his brother, also lived in North Carolina. In 1782 Jacob Vissage, with others from Orange county North Carolina, petitioned Thomas Burke, governor of North Carolina, for clemency for initially assisting Lord Cornwallis during the Revolutionary War. Before 1790 Jacob moved to Pendleton district South Carolina. (Pendleton county was later divided in Pickens and Oconee counties). There he received a grant of 543 acres in Ninety-six District in 1793. By 1794 he sold 350 of those acres.

5. Thomas2 Visage (Thomas1) was born about 1760 and died around 1834 in Kentucky. He married Mary (Polly) Shy in Caswell county North Carolina, 1 Oct 1792, the daughter of Rachel and Jesse Shy. Thomas is appears on the tax rolls for Mercer county Kentucky in 1800 and 1801 and on the tax rolls for Livingston county Kentucky beginning in 1803. He was listed as the head of a family on the 1810, 1820, and 1830 censuses of Livingston Co KY. He applied for bounty land in Livingston county, Kentucky, 15 June1803. Between 1803 and 1841. Thomas Vissage and his three children, James, Jesse, and Rachel acquired land in Livingston county, Kentucky. Much of the land was on or near Buck Creek.

Thomas Vissage's will gave his blacksmith tools to his son and his land to his unmarried daughter "Milly" (Emily) and his widowed daughter Mary. He gave his share of another tract of land that he had surveyed with his son to his daughter Catharine. Thomas Vissage had the following children:
