My Views

I am a conservative. Those that wish to take away my 2nd Amendment right to own a gun obviously haven't been to New York or Washington DC, where gun control has failed miserably. If we revoke those rights granted to us by the founding fathers, the only people with a gun will be criminals. I have yet to meet someone who could justify taking away my ability to defend myself against those who would rape, murder or cause bodily injury to me.

I do not believe in abortion, yet it is not my right to impose my morals on another person. As private citizens we need to work to provide services that would give expectant mothers (of unwanted pregnancies) a place to live, food to eat, emotional support and prenatal care to allow them to choose adoption instead of abortion. It is not the position of government to provide these services, those that care about preserving life must take this responsibility. Churches, social organizations, and private citizens could save many lives by doing something that shows they support life rather than harassing those faced with a difficult decision. By showing these women that their childs life is more important than a political platform, a much more convincing arguement would be made.

Our military and those who have served need to be given the respect and support they deserve. By volunteering to give up their freedom and sometimes their lives to protect the rights of those that often ignore and even berate them, they have made this country as great as it is.

About Me

I am 23 years old and from Fairfax, VA. I played soccer for 13 years, was the first female wrestler in my High School, ran Cross Country, was a cheerleader and have coached cheerleading. I have volunteered on a number of campaigns and worked for the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action. I was recently given a medical retirement from the US Army. My primary interests are Politics, Literature (esp. "The Beats"), Art, and Learning. I am currently researching the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. They are essentially the same disorder that have confined me to a wheelchair since March 1999.
