Name: Wolfgang, Ojo, Gex
Age: I have had them since June 2000.
Home: I keep them in a 10-gallon tank with some natural plants. I mist the walls and plants with water about twice a day.
Tricks: Jumping from one of my hands to another.
About My Pet: I really like my Green Anoles because they aren't afraid of me and they like me to play with them. They eat crickets and they really pack those bugs in when they are hungry. Sometimes I let them eat some bugs that are in my house.
Daily record:
7-1-2000: Today they didn't do much. I took Ojo out and played with her for a little while. She ate a spider in my house.
7-2-2000: Today was my birthday so I didn't spend much time with them. My Mom fed them some crickets and she said they ate a few.
7-3-2000: Today either Gex or Ojo laid an egg. The egg was dead and the shell was off so it appeared completly yellow. I am going to feed them some crickets tomorrow. That reminds me, I think they need some water. See you later! Adios! Au Revoir! (I hope you have got the point by now.)
7-4-2000: Happy 4th! Today I fed them some crickets. A few of them were injured in the process but the anoles chowed down on them anyway. The egg is still there as it was yesterday. I think they are afraid of the plastic lizard that I put in there. The plastic lizard is orange.
7-6-2000: Hey there! Couldn't fit it in my agenda to update the page yesterday. Well, I hope my little guys aren't hungry because I haven't fed them in a while. I'm going to buy some crickets tomorrow. I took Gex out but she was sleepy so I put her back in. Bye!
7-21-2000: Hey man! Long time no see! I haven't got a chance to update my page but here goes. I was out most of the day so I wasn't with them. I gave them some water and I will give them some crickets tonight or tomorrow. Chow!
7-24-2000: Hi! Today I gave them some crickets and they each got few. Ojo got a big cricket and had to constantly run away from Wolfgang because he tried to steal the cricket out of Ojo's mouth. I also got some new plants from outside that I will put in tomorrow.
7-27-2000: Today they didn't do much and neither did I. I made a little card for them and I put it on their tank yesterday.
7-28-2000: Today I stocked up on a lot of crickets. I didn't get home till kinda late so when I fed them only big fat Wolfgang actually managed to get any because Ojo and Gex were about to go to sleep. I am going to feed them some more tomorrow when they're awake. I might take one of them out.
7-29-2000: Today I fed them some crickets and they each had quite a few. Later I went outside to the park and got some nice plants. Then I took out all the dead plants and put in the new ones. It looks really good. Then I took Ojo out.
7-30-2000: Today I fed them some crickets and again they each got a few. Gex and Ojo really love the little tree that I put in the tank. I also gave them water which they drank. I think they like me to spray them also.
7-31:2000: Today I didn't spend much time with them and I didn't give them any crickets. I sprayed their tank and plants. I was afraid that Gex and Ojo were lost. However, they were just blended in very well with the little tree.
8-1-2000: Today I watered their tank and the like. I put a bug from my house in the tank, a silverfish to be exact, and after awhile Ojo came over and ate it.
8-3-2000: Today I played with Gex for a good little while before putting her away. Then I went outside on my bike for a ride. I am interested in trying to breed my green anoles and I read that the female wants something soft like moss to bury her eggs in. I found little pieces and packed them together with water and my hands, etc. Then I brought it home and put in my terrarium. They haven't even gone on it yet but I think they might. Then I took out Ojo and played with her for a little while.
8-4-2000: Today I looked to see if they went on the moss but they didn't. I fed them some crickets but unfortunately Gex didn't catch one. Then later in the day I went food shopping and got some peach baby food. I've heard that some green anoles will eat peach baby food. So when I got home I put some of the baby food in a bowl and put it in. I tryed lightly pushing Ojo towards the baby food, her tail went through it, she walked through it, but she didn't eat it. Maybe they will tomorrow. Who knows?
8-6-2000: Today I took the peach baby food out because the anoles just weren't eating it. I put the last cricket in and Ojo surprisingly got it instead of Wolfgang.
8-10-2000: Today I went out and stocked up on crickets, 60 to be exact. These guys are really hungry I'm sure because they haven't been fed since the 6th, my last entry prior to this one. Anyway, I fed them late in the day. Two of the crickets managed to escape before I could get them in the hole. I put about seven in the terrarium. I had to poke them down so they could see the food. But Gex and Wolfgang were hesitant and didn't eat any (I'm sure they will tomorrow.) Ojo was also slow but she caught one. Well, bye, I must now go over and spray their tank.
8-11-2000: Today I did a lot of stuff with my anoles. Early on I fed them some crickets, I had a lot of trouble getting Ojo to eat one. It was right under her nose and she didn't go for it. After a while she did. Wolfgang, as usual, ate the most crickets. Then later I went in a small pet shop and bought one of those Zoo-Med Lizard Ladder things. Ojo went on it, climbed to the top of it and did a vertical leap to the top of my terrarium. She made a nice landing upside down on the screen.
8-12-2000: Today I put a lot of crickets in the terrarium and they each had a good few. Then I was about to get a hammock for them but I changed the thing I bought yesterday into a hammock.
8-14-2000: Today I fed my nice little anoles (in Wolfgang's case not so little!) some crickets and Ojo, the skinny one got like five. As you may have noticed I have installed a poll on the left and my site is listed on a lot of search engines (try: Green Anole Journal, at AOL.com). Try my poll!
8-15-2000: Today my Mom went to Petco and bought 30 more crickets just to make sure we were still stocked. When I came home I was surprised to see Ojo on the hammock. That's the first time one of them went on it. Then I fed them a lot and they ate a lot.
8-16-2000: Today was a breakthrough with hammock. Ojo and Gex were on it a lot during the day. I also fed them a lot of crickets. We tried to get the two females some food but they only got like two while Wolfgang got about nine. I also cleaned the glass. Please take part in my poll!
8-17-2000: Today Wolfgang stayed on the hammock all day. He is very happy. He sleeps on it and it is a very good surveillience area for him. I fed them some crickets but I didn't see any of the anoles go after them. I hope to get some pictures up soon. When I'm done with this entry I'm going to put in a info sheet. Check it out! See you later.
