Welcome to Journal Page 3!
10-22-00: Today I tried out some new anole ideas that I have picked up over the web. One of the ideas was this. I shined the UVB over the anoles favorite basking spot, the hammock. Then I put three ice cubes over the screen under the light. It melted on to the hammock, cooling the anoles and also increasing the humidity. They love humidity and heat.

10-24-00: Today while was at school my Dad watched the light for me which I am really thankful for or else they wouldn't be taken care for when I was at school. Tomorrow I am going to pick up some crickets.

10-28-00: Today was a rather uneventful day for the little guys. I was able to regulate the light for them. I also made sure they had plenty of water on their walls to keep it nice and humid for them.

11-1-00: My Dad's report on the anoles was that they were very happy. As usual my Dad regulated the light for me while I was away. My Dad loves the feet on the anoles. He also thinks it is amazing that the anoles don't run away when you try to handle them, it is as if they aren't afraid.

11-3-00: I'm looking forward to a nice weekend with my anoles. I ended the regular week with the report that my Dad said that the anoles were supplied with plenty of their UVB. As always your questions, comments, suggestions for my site are welcome at my E-mail address, greenwolf77@aol.com.

11-9-00: Hey, yesterday I picked up some crickets for the little guys. They hadn't had anything to eat in a while so they gobbled them up very quickly. If you have been on the Green Anoles Discussion Forum recently, you may have noticed that there were some offensive messages. If that scared you away from it don't worry because I have found out how to delete problematic posts.

11-10-00: Hello! Today was the last day of the week so I have a two day break from school and I can spend some time with my green anoles. My Dad had the light on for me which I appreciate. Next week I will have to make sure that I get them some crickets so the don't starve in these upcoming winter months.

11-13-00: Hey! Today was another week day so I didn't get to spend to much time with my anoles. My Dad as usual regulated the heat lamp for me. Reading the above entry right now was a good reminder. I need some crickets!

11-19-00: Today was my last full day with the anoles until the next weekend. I got them some crickets last Thursday and they were well received by Wolfgang. He was so eager to eat them that there was a little thing sticking out of his mouth for a little while.

11-24-00: Hey! I had a great Thanksgiving did you? Unfortunately I had no crickets so the anoles didn't get to feast like I did. Oh well. Today they didn't have any crickets either and I will make sure they get some soon. They had their heat regulated well and they had some water.

11-25-00: I'm looking forward to this week so I can get them some crickets. I hope they aren't hungry! I did what I could without having crickets: sprayed them with water, monitored the light and so on.

11-30-00: Hey! The past day I got some crickets and I thought they were really hungry. However, they weren't very aggresive in chasing after them. Even Wolfgang didn't much of an appetite. The past weekend I did a massive tank cleanup job. I cleaned all the walls. I sifted the soil a little bit and raked it with a fork. I cleaned up all of Wolfgang's droppings, and I finally added a nice little plant with a lot of leaves. I left the plant in its little jar sort of thing. The anoles really love it and they often go to sleep on the leaves now. They didn't however tonight.

12-2-00: Today was a weekend day so I got to spend a lot of time with anoles. They were really sunning today. They usually bask from the hammock but today all three of them were right up on the screen, upside down of course, taking some light and heat on their stomachs which I have noticed are really white compared to their green or brown.

12-3-00: Today I spent a lot of time looking at my anoles. Again, as it is becoming a great hobby of them, they were basking under the light. I gave the a few silverfish but I didn't see them eat it. I've added some new features. Please rate my site on the main page. It is at the bottom left.

12-17-00: I have recently been enjoying a  lot of success on the Green Anole Discussion Forum. Go pay a visit and have your questions answered by me as well as a few other anole people. It is even better than E-mailing me because other anole owners can relate on their own personal experience. I have also devised a monthly mailing list, and I should have it coming out soon. The anoles are looking pretty good, a little skinny because they normally slow down a little bit in the winter. I planted some pumpkin seeds in the tank, and they are really growing supurbly. Pretty soon they should be big enough for the anoles to climb around on.

12-22-00: Today I have noticed a big difference in the growth of my pumpkin plants. I planted them a few weeks and they are really taking off! They are almost as tall as my main plant and go up about 5/9's the height of my tank. My anoles don't climb on them yet though because no leaves have come yet. I hope they don't climb on it for a little while though because their weight, Wolfgang's especially will probably cause it to fall sideways. My anoles were very lazy again and they didn't do much. They other day when I came to take one out she just sat there and didn't put up her usual fight to be avoided. I don't even really worry about feeding because they hardly eat anything in the winter months anyway.

12-25-00: Merry Christmas! My anoles' gift was A LOT of petting, playing and I looked at them a lot during the day. The pumpkin plant continues to grow! The only difference now is that it is kind of tilting sideways and it is really annoying because their hasn't been any real leaf growth either. I guess I will just have to wait a little bit on it. While I was watching they did some of my favorite tricks! It was awesome! First Ojo was just fooling around on the hammock and then she leaped out straight, turned upside-down and landed on the screen top on the fly. I was more impressed with this stunt then seeing Tony Hawk pull some sick air. This was totally cool! Then Wolfgang did another one of his "mad walks." He was walking around on the floor and then he just started getting real jumpy. He did a vertical jump on to a leaf, and then jumped a good one foot to the hammock on the other side of the tank. They did a lot of tricks on this Christmas 2000. Happy Christmas! Happy Hannukah! Happy Kwanzaa!

SORRY IT HAS TAKEN SO LONG FOR ME TO UPDATE MY SITE. I WILL START DOING AGAIN REGULARLY.

7-14-01: Hey! It's been forever since I last updated this page but I am here to do it so I hope you enjoy it. I thank everybody who E-mailed me and said that I should continue it. Well here goes. Yesterday I got them food for the first time in a little while and I think they were really happy to get it. Ojo, Gex, Wolfgang (Yes, they're all still alive), all chowed down. Wolfgang as always was the most guilty of gorging himself but surprisingly he wasn't the first to get one. Today Wolfgang was playing around with this round and heavy rock that I have in the cage. He kept putting his two front feet on it and standing up. It was really cool. As of late I haven't been using my UVB lamp because it's summer and I don't think they need it. The light bulb burned out anyway. Even though it's summer and anoles mate in the spring, I think there is some love in the air. Wolfgang has been following around Gex and Ojo a lot. I haven't seen him flare his dewlap but he has puffed out his back. I haven't seen any eggs though so maybe it's just me. See you later!

7-23-01: Today there was a lot of action! Some good, some bad. It was a hot day today and the lizards enjoyed it a lot I think. I sprayed the tank with a lot of water. There was so much that I could barely inside it. Wolfgang was doing his thing with the rock again. I think he does it because there is a certain amount of heat in the rock. Heat rocks that you plug in are dangerous because they can burn the anole's hand but I don't think this can get to hot. Then I gave them some crickets for the first time in a while. They were all contentedly gobbling them up when something scary happened. Gex and Ojo were fighting over a cricket! Ojo had half of Gex's head in her mouth! I thought she was going to swallow her! I tapped the cage hard and the fight broke up. There was nothing after that. I was kind of afraid that Wolfgang would interfere. But they are all fine now and that is what counts.

7-28-01: Today there was some action going on from Wolfgang in turns of courtship. In the morning he and Ojo were on their hammock and they were touching there lips together. Kind of like kissing. It was pretty neat. In the afternoon I was watching T.V. when out of the corner of my eye I saw Wolfgang and Gex bobbing their heads. Wolfgang however was not flaring his dewlap. I was surprised that Gex was doing it because she's a female.

7-30-01: Today I was eagerly watching them to see if there was anything more going on with their breeding. I saw Wolfgang and Ojo on a leaf and Wolfgang was lying on top of her. Maybe they have something going. I really want eggs because I have never had any! I'll keep you posted!

8-14-01: Sorry for yet another bothersome lapse of information. I'm afraid this piece of news isn't quite so optimistic as the last one. Ojo doesn't seem to be moving much but when I go away for a while and come back she's somewhere else. When I saw her trying to move her arms were trembling and it seemed she didn't have control. I put in a thin slice of melon in there but she ignored it. I put in a new UVB light which I thought might help but it didn't seem to do much. I am very sad but I am hoping she's pregnant. Any new developments will be relayed to you.

8-15-01: I do this entry with a heavy heart. I am sorry to say that Ojo passed away today. It is very sad but she had a great life. I brought her home from school last June and I was so happy to have her and the others. She lived a prosperous and fun life, but I suppose she had to die. She was very skinny and there was nothing I could do to make her eat. I took her outside and buried her next to a rose bush, a fitting place for her to be buried. I took a clam shell and I'll write on it tomorrow to use as a tombstone.

RIP OJO!
c. June 2000 - August 2001

8-17-01: I am still grieving about Ojo's dead. She was a really good buddy of mine. I did the clam shell yesterday and I think it looks nice. I visited it today and said hi and that I missed her. Back upstairs the other anoles went about their business as if nothing had happened. I didn't use their light because it was warm enough as well as being light. I made sure they had plenty of light and life just goes on.

8-18-01: Today the anoles seemed pretty active. They were hopping around a lot and carrying in that matter of fashion. I should probably get some crickets for them soon. I sprayed their tank two or three times. It was a really humid day anyway so I guess they didn't need it much though.

8-26-01: Sorry for the gap between entries. I need to give them some food because they haven't had any in a while. I gave them some water and that was about it. I'll keep you posted on any new developments.
