Storyboard design is
a speciality niche of commercial illustration. It entails telling a story
with a number of sequential images with consideration for scene detail, character
continuity, camera angles, special effects, etc. They come in many forms
depending on budgets. Sometimes a simple series of pencil thumbnails does
the trick and sometimes only super color paintings can sell your project.
One has to be creative, versatile and flexible. There aren't a lot of us
out here who do storyboards. Although I have done literally thousands of
units in the last twenty years (whew, makes me tired just to think about
it) the projects have been widely varied. I've done storyboards for feature
films, animation, music video, tv commercials, educational multi-media,
government training audio-visuals, etc. Comps are basically a single unit
storyboard - a preliminary marker sketch of a final graphic or photo for
mockup purposes. Below are a few sample excerpts of different storyboard
treatments. Now that you know what storyboards and comps are maybe you could
use my services? Or perhaps you know someone who needs storyboard design?
